Beyond the Gates of Antares - Warlord HQ Open Day Pt.2

It seems Pt.1 went down rather well so here's Pt.2.

Right so Pt.1 left off with all the shiny toys on display so lets start Pt.2 with the toy haul I bought then shall we?

So most of the above was freebies but the goodies include:

The Chryseis Shard – Ascent of the Locus + Free Exclusive Figure
Free Wargames Illustrated
Free Event Mini Togg
Free Antares Dice game
Free Open Day Template
Boromite Miner Tas Geren’do
Outcast Rebel Ghar Weapon Team
Boromite Gang Fighters (Old stock with extra figures)

An odd mix most of what I did buy were impulse buys, I couldn't really say no when I noticed they still had some of the older larger box sets but priced in the smaller box prices so counting my pennies I bought a Gang Fighter box.

While not as good as Work Gangs in the rules, in my mind the figures are much more enjoyable to paint.

Anyway gaming wise I spent the day in a large 3x3 game hosted by the Primus Shard Gaming Group which also contains fellow Oldhammer'ererers.

Sadly my side got eaten by cheese mongering Warlords.. ahem, or maybe it was just unlucky dice

Big Game:

Last of all The Rickest Rick, Mr Rick Priestley gave a seminar about the new Gates expansion book: The Chryseis Shard – Ascent of the Locus.

Whelp that's your lot, I had a great day and I hope it might encourage more people to come to the next event.

Ta Ta for now!

  2. Nice swag haul sir. Those Ghar look the coolest of the factions imo.

That game must have taken a while? That's a lot of order dice to work through each turn.

THanks for sharing the pics and write up!

    1. Thanks, Ghar Empire seem rather plain but Ghar Rebels are rather cool with looted weapons and hybrid walkers :). Game wise we finished the game in about 5 hours with both a few Pizza and Seminar breaks, about 35 Order dice a side.
